THE TWO FACES OF LOVE

In this comparative study, Susan Jafarzadeh explores the two faces of love in the poetry of Saadi and Rumi: the earthly, ethical, and human love of Saadi, and the heavenly, transformative, and cosmic love of Rumi. Drawing on classical sources and the author’s own published research, the book also examines the narrative vision of Nizami and offers a contemporary reading of these enduring voices of Persian literature. A thoughtful companion for readers seeking both the smile of Saadi and the flame of Rumi.
